Frequently asked questions
The things people ask us most — the name, the studio, who played what, and how long this is all taking.
Q01 Why are you called Hook and Ladder? Were you formerly firemen?
The short answer is no. Details of the back story coming soon to a theater near you.
Q02 Does anybody know about the quake?
This question has already been answered in Prince's “Housequake,” from the 1987 double LP Sign o' the Times. Go cue up the track.
Q03 Who plays what?
On the original music demos, Michael or Eric handle all the instruments themselves. Album recordings sometimes bring in guest musicians, who are credited in the liner notes. Note that any recorded squeezebox is solely played by mama — and the reason by which daddy never sleeps at night.
Q04 What would you say has been the hardest part of the process?
The waiting. The waiting is the hardest part.
Q05 It's rumored that HnL Band is recording at Pinewood Studio. Is that true? Where is it, and is it open to the public?
True — we're recording at a Pinewood location. Pinewood Studio is not currently open to outside clientele, but future accommodations are actively in consideration.
